This Is Not My Life

No. Really. It's not.

Completed Drabbles

Whew! I finally completed all the requests made way back when. Turns out that, while I'm not good at writing long fics, I'm not that great at writing short ones either. These fourteen ficlets altogether are the second longest thing I've written (after my Bizenghast fic from last year)! Which is sort of depressing. Regardless, here they are by fandom:

Bizenghast
Dinah, Vincent and Edaniel take on the prompt of An Ill Omen (fortune teller; fate) for [info]alory_shannon.

Dinah and Vincent in the real world for [info]firiel44.

Bizenghast/HP
Dinah and the Bizengang enter the world of Harry Potter...sort of for [info]diddilypuff.

Harry Potter
Snape tests Lucius's knowledge, and Lucius tests Snape's patience for [info]ladynorbert.

Dumbledore responds to a recent controversy for [info]capri_chan.

Bellatrix is seriously eff-ed up for [info]pith.

Harry/Merak versus Narcissa Malfoy for [info]merveille_moi.

Harry/Merak versus Lucius Malfoy for [info]bergann.

Voldemort takes on some bloody seahorses for [info]bending_sickle.

Aberforth practices some inappropriate charms on goats, and it's not nearly as funny as you might think for [info]repartee.

Voldemort makes an unusual fashion decision for [info]originalgeek.

Draco mulls over his receding hairline, his mother and Harry Potter (and for some reason I want to write Harry/Narcissa now) for [info]khelekwen.

HP/PotC/LotR
Voldemort and Sauron take on an upstart villain from Pirates of the Caribbean for [info]frenchroast.

Lord of the Rings
Elrond considers a young Aragorn for [info]yuurei_san.

Yeah, I got the Return of the King Extended Edition for Christmas, and I just finished watching it today.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Do you know how grateful I am for the Faramir/Eowyn scenes? Not just as a fan of the pairing, but as a person who likes continuity in her movies (so they're just together at the end of the original cut? For no reason at all?).

Hey, Tolkien scholars? Is that scene with the Witchking and Gandalf plausible at all? If you've seen the extended movie, you'll know which one I'm talking about.

And, man. You do not ever want to be forced to watch a movie with me. Every thing I watch is immediately turned into a MST3K. You may think that would be funny, but I'm pretty sure I get annoying damn quick. It's one thing to read my Breadboxes, and think of certain lines later, but watching with me is just a stream of random comments. Example:

Elrond: Your hands are cold.
Me (as Arwen): Well, Daddy, that's because our house has no walls.

or:

King of the Dead: We fight.
Me (as King): We took a vote.

And this is for four whole hours. Man, I'm annoying.

But, yeah. Extended Edition rocks my world! Now if only I could find my Extended Edition copy of Two Towers, I could overload my brain with LotR.

Well, party peoples, I finally have Internet again. Technically, I had it a few days ago, but I was too busy to do anything important. But now that I'm up and running again, here's the last LotR Breadbox. Hooray!

I swear I will answer all comments tomorrow. I'm just too tired now. Man, this is a long BBE. I think I need to work on keeping them shorter.

Two Towers: Breadbox Edition
Private Moon
[info]evadne_noel
Okay, Two Towers is now up. And as I said I would, I will now tell the story of the "a" in Rohan. As you probably know, I spelled Rohan "Rohn" in the original posting of this BBE. You probably thought this was a mistake. It was, and it was not. Here is how it happened:

This story starts back when I put up the Fellowship of the Ring. In that story, as you may have noticed if you're picky about such things, I spelled Galadriel "Galadrial." Enter my friend, Joni, who I think I may have mentioned in my author's notes as one of my best friends. And she is. But she's also a crazy fangirl. (Joni, feel free to refute.) She noticed my misspelling, and immediately jumped all over it. This was kind of annoying, as she mentioned much more often than necessary (sorry, honey).

Spelling pestering continued when I wrote for her a fic you will never ever see because it has adult content and was for Joni's enjoyment only. It was about the Elves (whom she loves) and their incredibly screwed up love lives. But I misspelled something else that I can't remember right now, and am too lazy to look up. However, I do remember it was another word where I subsituted an "a" where there should have been an "e" because Joni accused me of favoring the letter "a," which is patently untrue. I love all letters equally.

To prove to her that I didn't favor the letter "a," I left it out of the word "Rohan" in the Two Towers BBE. Then I gave her a copy, which gave her another heart attack. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to edit what I had written for Joni before posting it on FF.net.

Long story short: The reason "Rohan" had no "a" was because I am spiteful to my friends. Really makes you want to know me, doesn't it?

(Just to let you know, Joni and I play games like this frequently. We really are good friends. Right?)

And now for the fic:

Breadbox Edition: Fellowship of the Rings
Private Moon
[info]evadne_noel
As I promised, I'm slowly putting up all the Breadbox Editions that used to be on fanfiction.net. I plan on editing them first, so it may take a while to get them all up. I'm putting up the three Lord of the Rings Breadboxes in a row because they belong together. First up is Fellowship.

If this version doesn't quite jive with what you remember, it's because I've edited it since I first put it up three years ago. It's largely the same; the changes are just cosmetic. There's less swearing and a few lines I never liked were taken out. You probably won't notice, but I thought I'd warn you.

It may be a while before I can put up Two Towers however. I'm moving on Sunday, and it's going to be hectic for a bit.
