I was having a tough time writing the review I wanted for this movie, so I decided to cut out the long blocks of text that just weren’t working and went with what I know.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE: NUTSHELL EDITION

( SPOILERS )

That pretty much sums up my feelings, perhaps a little more negatively than I’d like, so I’d just like to add a few more points.

1. If you haven’t seen Casino Royale since it came out, you might want to watch it again, since Quantum of Solace follows immediately after.

2. The opera scene is a great set-piece, and I’m not just saying that because Daniel Craig is in a tuxedo.

3. The action is amazing, even if it is of the bone crushing, wince-in-your-seat kind. It is, however, cut so each shot is about two seconds long, so if you’re prone to vertigo, you might not want to watch this on a big screen.

So it’s not what you were expecting, and it’s not quite what I was expecting either, but, hey. At least it’s new, right?

I'm sorry this took so long, and I promise it won't happen again. I got caught up writing a fanfiction for a friend (a real one, with plot and everything!), and this got pushed aside. I'm not going to be waiting a month to finish parts from now on, because this would go on for two years.

This is the last Star Wars BBE I will be doing for a while. Ever since I saw it a week and a half ago, I've been eating, sleeping and breathing Star Wars. It started after we saw it. The next day, my friend was all, "Let's get drunk and watch 'Star Wars,'" and I stupidly thought she meant "A New Hope." Nope. She meant all six of them. It took several days, as she kept falling asleep. And I had just watched "A New Hope" for the BBE. So...the galaxy far, far away can just stay that way for a little while. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this done before "Revenge of the Sith" came out, so I apologize to those who've already seen that movie and expected this beforehand. It is out before I've seen "Sith," though, so I reached at least one of my goals. I'm seeing "Sith" tonight, so expect a review in the next day or so. Hell, if it's good, I might have one up at about 1:30 a.m.

Also wanted to let you know that after I do a BBE of "Sith" (how could I not?), I'm not going to do "Empire Strikes Back" right away. Two "Star Wars" movies in a row is enough for a little while anyway. But "Empire" will be put on my list of movies to BBE.

Enough of this. Time for "Star Wars!"

Hey, all. I know I promised to do a Classic Star Wars Breadbox Edition before the next movie comes out, and I will. I've just been very busy recently. I "graduated" on Sunday, so my parents came down to see me in D.C. I've been entertaining them ever since. Plus, I've started my summer class, which has a ridiculously large reading list for an elective summer course. So, in lieu of new material, here is a vintage (if you think 4 years can ever be vintage) Breadbox Edition of Time Machine. Enjoy.

I really have no idea how this happened.

Also, this Breadbox Edition has a rating of "PG-14". There are descriptions of violence (though mostly flippant ones) and a large number of swear words. If those things offend you, don't read it. This is based on a movie with a hard "R" rating, after all.

Like I said, I have no idea how I wrote this. I probably won't get another one out until the middle of May.

Gloriana, it's freakin' COLD! At least we didn't get as much snow as originally expected, but I still don't want to go outside for anything. Luckily I went food shopping before the snow came. Man! It's freezing!

Anyway, here's the original Spider-Man Breadbox Edition. I'll work on the second one before too long, but it's a busy semester and I have a lot of reading for class to do (Public Management. Yay.). Hopefully, if the weather continues to be bad I'll have some extra home time. Also assuming my roommate isn't watching MTV all day.

I don't know whether I've mentioned this or not, but I've been on break for the past few weeks. Early on, I decided that I would try to get a Breadbox done because I won't have a lot of time again once the semester starts. Turns out, I had a lot more to do during break than I thought, and it hasn't been until this week that I've actually had time to write.

Originally, I was going to do Spider-Man 2, because I promised several people I would. When I got it for Christmas, I almost went ahead and did that. But then I realized that while I now owned Spider-Man, I did not own Van Helsing, but my father did. Since I already had three pages of a VH BBE on my computer, I went ahead and finished it.

So, here's a new VH: BBE for your reading pleasure. Spider-Man is coming, I SWEAR. I just wanted to do this one while I had access to the DVD.

I really should be doing work for my upcoming finals/presentations. But, I really want to do things not related to work, so here I am putting up another Breadbox.

I swear to the stars above that I had something really witty and clever to say in this introduction, but I can't remember for the life of me what it was. Just have some Star Wars.

Did you know that "Jedi" is in Microsoft Word's dictionary, but the plural "Jedis" is not? Apparently, if I have more than one Jedi, I'm in violation of some Microsoft writing rule.

Regardless, I found the Breadbox for Phantom Menace. I'd forgotten how short this was in comparison to the giantness of the sequel. I think I've said this before, but I really need to start abridging my abridgements again.

My Internet at home has been a little wonky recently, so I don't really trust updating my livejournal there right now. I'm actually at the computer center (again) to do this. I figured I should put up the second Matrix Breadbox because I did the first. Before anyone asks, no, I do not have a BBE for the first movie, and will not have one any time soon. My backlog of requests is huge right now, I have no time, and I don't have a copy of that movie anyway (sadly, as it is the only one I like).

I may put up Spiderman next, but I was thinking I might hold off until I get the second movie for Christmas and do a BBE for that one. In that case, I'll do a thorough search for Phantom Menace, and do those next. What do you think?

I wanted to do Star Wars next, but for the life of me, I could not find The Phantom Menace. On a side not, I cannot find Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer either. I wonder if I have them on disks. I certainly hope so, as I had to reformat my hard drive over the summer, losing everything stored on my computer (I had most of it backed lup, but who knows?). Shoot. Well, in any case, here's Matrix: Reloaded.

Well, it's after 1:30 in the morning, I've had a busy week, I'm real tired, but I'm not in bed. Do you want to know why?

...

BECAUSE THERE'S A LEAK IN MY FREAKIN' CEILING!

That's right, my ceiling is leaking. The front desk called the maintenance person, who took a hour getting here, who came up to my apartment and did...nothing. He said he was going upstairs to see if the apartment above me was flooding, and he would be back if he found something.

This begs the question, what if he doesn't find anything on the floor above me? Will someone come back and tell me this? Will someone tell me what I can do so that I can finally go to bed? I can't go to bed while it's still leaking; someone has to keep emptying the bowls the water is dripping into. THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO, PEOPLE?
